AN ACT
To enact R.S. 43:31.2, relative to the certain printing and distribution prohibitions; to provide that no branch, department, agency, official, employee, or other entity of state government or any political subdivision thereof from knowingly printing or distributing material that contains information that has been proven to be false or fraudulent; to provide for liability for and recovery of the costs in the case of a violation; and to provide for related matters.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: Section 1. R.S. 43:31.2 is hereby enacted to read as follows: §31.2. Printing and distribution of false or fraudulent material A. No branch, department, agency, official, employee, or other entity of state government or any political subdivision shall knowingly print or cause to be printed or distribute or cause to be distributed any material that contains, or presents as factual, information which has been proven to be false or fraudulent.
B. Any administrative head of any branch, department, agency, or political subdivision who violates any provision of this Section and any employee who, without the authorization of his administrative superior, violates any provision of this Section shall be personally liable for the cost of any printing or distribution in violation of this Section. Any funds of, administered by, or under the control of any branch, department, agency, official, employee, or political subdivision expended on any printing or distribution in violation of this Section may be recovered by the state or political subdivision in a civil action instituted by any taxpayer, the attorney general, or the district attorney of the parish in which the violation occurred
