The sun is shrinking at such a rate that it would disappear completely in 100,000 years. This would make it impossibly large and hot in the distant past if the sun is millions of years old.

- これは収縮率を定数だと仮定している。この仮定に根拠はない。（これは創造論者自身が文句を言っている一様性仮定である。）他の恒星は膨張と修復を繰り返している。我々自身の太陽も、同じことを小さなスケールで起こしているかもしれない。
- 収縮していることを示す良い証拠が存在しない。この主張は1980年のたった一つの報告に基づいている。1980年以降の他の計測ではん、目立った収縮は報告されていない。太陽が収縮いているという最初の報告は、数十年間の計測技術の変化による系統的エラーを含んでいると思われる。
